Introduction to the School of Accounting and Finance

The School of Accounting and Finance

The School of Accounting and Finance (SAF) was established in 2014. Built on a solid foundation of established academic departments, SAF aims to meet Taiwan’s demand for business talents that align with its economic and industrial growth. It has evolved into a well-structured and comprehensive institution with an interdisciplinary mission integrating diverse fields. SAF offers a Doctoral Program (launched in 2019) comprised of the Department of Accounting Information (DAI, including a master’s program), the Department of Finance (DOF, including a master’s program), and the Department of Public Finance and Tax Administration (DPFTA, including a master’s program).

Since its establishment, SAF has focused on improving business education to meet Taiwan’s industrial needs. By introducing technological advancements, renewing curricula, and fostering leadership from a character-oriented perspective, SAF has endeavored to elevate its graduates’ global mobility in response to the increasingly globalized and digitalized world. Confronting drastic demographic shifts, intense international competition, and AI-induced challenges, SAF remains committed to improving faculty’s teaching quality, innovation outputs, and the learning environment. Also, it continues to strengthen academia-industry collaborations, research productivity, and organizational transformation to extend our graduates’ AI literacy and capacity.

  • DAI nurtures talents with an international perspective and social responsibility. They possess the knowledge and skills in accounting, information systems, taxation, corporate governance, and finance.
  • DOF cultivates mid/high-level talents in financing. They possess management expertise in financial products and trading mechanisms.
  • DPFTA trains talents capable of handling tax collection for governmental agencies and planning tax accounting for the public and private sectors.

Bridging the Gap Between Learning and Career Through Practical Training and Professional Certification

Amid the waves of digital transformation and sustainable development, the School of Accounting and Finance at the National Taipei University of Business (NTUB) has established a clear vision, interdisciplinary programs, and a strong focus on practical training to create a learning pathway that ensures students are “Career-Ready upon Graduation.” From the moment they enter NTUB, students are guided to plan their future with a clear career blueprint, achieving seamless integration between academic learning and workplace needs.

In 2025, NTUB ranked 7th nationwide in the Business and Management category of the “Best Universities in Taiwan” ranking, standing alongside prestigious institutions such as National Taiwan University and National Chengchi University. The College was also recognized by 1111 Job Bank as the “Most Preferred Finance and Economics Program by Employers”, and has long maintained the highest number of civil service examination passers among business-oriented universities, firmly establishing its leadership position in Taiwan’s financial education landscape.

Five Pillars of Education: Professionalism, Practicality, Digitalization, Character, and Internationalization

Since Dean Jui-Chih Wang assumed office in 2022, the College has implemented its “Five-Pillar Education Strategy,” constructing an integrated system that bridges interdisciplinary learning with employability.
Dean Wang emphasizes:

“Our mission is to help students establish their direction during their studies, build competence, and prepare comprehensively for their future careers.”

Under this framework, students not only develop solid professional knowledge but also achieve remarkable success in national examinations. NTUB students have consistently excelled in civil service and local government exams, while the number of students passing the Certified Public Accountant (CPA) exam continues to grow annually, reflecting the College’s academic strength in auditing and taxation. In addition, students have achieved outstanding results in bookkeeping, high-level accounting, and fiscal administration exams, demonstrating the College’s comprehensive approach to professional certification and exam preparation.

Internship Integration × Industry–Academia Collaboration: The Golden Formula for Career Readiness

To close the gap between theory and practice and enhance students’ employability, the College has implemented a mandatory internship program requiring students to complete 6 to 9 credits of practical training before graduation.
Through partnerships with the Big Four accounting firms, financial institutions, listed companies, industry associations, and government agencies, students gain first-hand industry experience and strengthen their professional readiness.

The College also collaborates with institutions such as the Taiwan Academy of Banking and Finance (TABF), Institute for Information Industry (III), and Industrial Technology Research Institute (ITRI) to deliver co-taught courses by academic and industry instructors, ensuring that students acquire both theoretical depth and practical breadth.

Ten Distinctive Features: Certification Empowerment × Practical Training × Holistic Development

The College has developed a comprehensive educational framework built upon ten key features that integrate specialized knowledge with interdisciplinary competence:

  • Interdisciplinary micro-curricula combining big data, fintech, and taxation;
  • Dual-instructor system jointly led by professors and industry professionals;
  • Strong certification support for bookkeeping, financial licenses, and TOEIC;
  • Integration of Python, R programming, and tax simulation tools;
  • Competitive and project-based learning to enhance innovation;

Digital Governance, Pai Wen-Cheng Information, Smart Finance Interaction, Smart Investment, Financial Big Data, and Financial Innovation Incubation Labs.

In 2025, the Department of Accounting Information received NT$4.5 million in funding from the Ministry of Education to establish the “AI-Driven Accounting Practice Center.”
This facility incorporates Robotic Process Automation (RPA) technology covering automated financial reporting, reconciliation, invoicing, and tax filing, enabling students to experience enterprise automation workflows and strengthen their digital literacy.

Comprehensive Graduate Programs × Taiwan’s First Master’s Program in ESG and Carbon Management

The College comprises doctoral and master’s programs under three departments—Accounting Information, Finance, and Public Finance & Taxation—along with in-service and industry-sponsored master’s programs.

In 2024, NTUB launched Taiwan’s first “Master’s Program in ESG and Digital Carbon Management,” focusing on carbon inventory, carbon footprint, and carbon neutrality practices to cultivate green-collar professionals for sustainable transformation.

The program has already guided over 20 faculty and students to earn international ISO carbon management certifications, and collaborates with leading enterprises, providing students with opportunities to engage in real-world sustainability projects during their studies.

Four Core Career Competencies: Learning × Interdisciplinary × Application × Soft Skills

Dean Wang encourages students to develop four essential career competencies:

  1. Learning Power – cultivating self-driven and lifelong learning;
  2. Interdisciplinary Power – integrating finance, technology, and sustainability;
  3. Application Power – mastering Python, R, and AI data analytics;
  4. Soft Power – strengthening communication, teamwork, and leadership.

From the moment students enter NTUB, the School of Accounting and Finance accompanies them every step of the way—through coursework, internships, examinations, and career development—guiding them toward success.

For aspiring university students, the School of Accounting and Finance at NTUB is not merely an academic institution—it is a launchpad for self-discovery, clear direction, and future achievement.
